Pipeline I&E Inspector
A Pipeline I&E (Instrumentation & Electrical) inspector's duties include inspecting electrical wiring, instrumentation, and control systems for compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications. They also verify that all installed components and their connections are accurate and safe, review construction plans and permits, conduct tests, maintain records, and report findings and recommended actions to ensure the integrity and safety of the pipeline's electronic and control infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting Electrical Components -- Verifies that electrical wiring, conduit, junction boxes, and other electrical components are installed correctly and meet safety and industry codes.
- Inspecting Instrumentation and Control Systems -- Evaluates instrumentation, control panels, sensors, and other automated systems to ensure proper function, calibration, and compliance with design specifications.
- Compliance and Quality Control -- Ensures that all electrical and instrumentation installations adhere to project plans, relevant regulations, electrical codes, and company policies.
- Testing and Verification -- Conducts and logs necessary electrical and instrumentation tests, such as voltage, resistance, and continuity checks, to confirm
- functionality and safety.
- Documentation and Reporting -- Prepares detailed inspection reports, logs findings, and documents any deviations or issues, providing recommendations for corrective actions to management.
- Safety Assurance -- Conducts pipeline safety evaluations to identify potential risks associated with electrical and instrumentation systems and recommends preventive measures.
- Record Keeping -- Maintains accurate and organized records of inspections, tests, and maintenance activities related to electrical and instrumentation
- systems.
- Equipment Maintenance -- Performs maintenance on specialized inspection tools and equipment used for electrical and instrumentation checks.
